Introducing LightForce 3.0: Evolution. Built together.

LightForce 3.0

Innovation in orthodontics is only as valuable as the difference it makes in your chair every day. That’s why every update at LightForce starts with a simple formula: listen to orthodontists and their teams, analyze the data, and build tools that make their practices more efficient and their patient experience stronger. LightForce 3.0 is the result of that process – Evolution. Built together. These updates combine precision engineering with real-world feedback from doctors, their teams, patients, and data from the LightForce Ecosystem. Designed and developed with the highest intention of delivering measurable gains in patient comfort, digital planning control, and chairside efficiency.

Introducing our latest product innovations: LightBracket HD, Advanced Tooth Movement Tools featuring Hinge Control, and new LightTray upgrades!

LightBracket HD: Elevating Patient Comfort Through Smoother Design

When it comes to patient experience, comfort matters. Over the past year, we have received feedback on opportunities to enhance comfort and reduce friction. In response, we took action. We’ve invested in our technology and talent to redesign bracket surface finish and tie wings, applying what we have learned in both internal bench testing and everyday use. The result? A LightBracket that feels smoother in the mouth while supporting predictable movement. And we’re already seeing the payoff. 85% of doctors surveyed reported noticeable improvements in patient comfort.* As Dr. Todd Welsh from Bucks County Orthodontics shared:

“The new HD brackets are significantly smoother and significantly improve patient comfort.”

Our internal testing at the bench also reported additional wins with the bracket upgrade: Up to a 27% reduction in friction in bracket slots, up to a 68% reduction in surface roughness on bracket tie wings, and up to a 59% reduction in surface roughness on bracket hooks.*

LightBracket HD is rethinking 3D-printed ceramic braces in terms of comfort and friction. This helps orthodontists achieve greater treatment predictability and efficiency, while boosting overall patient satisfaction.

Next Gen Tooth Movement Tools: Precision at Your Fingertips

Digital treatment planning is only as effective as the tools you use to make adjustments. That’s why the new Tooth Movement Tools in LightPlan were strategically designed for orthodontists who want more control with fewer clicks.

Dr. Tara Gostovich from TG Orthodontics put it simply:

“I love these features and feel like this is exactly what we have been waiting for!”

From rotations to complex adjustments, orthodontists can now make precise modifications with visual clarity.

Hinge Control: Compounding Efficiency Gains

Within the new Tooth Movement Tools, Hinge Control stands out as one of the most popular enhancements amongst early testers. Hinge Controls aims to compound efficiency gains, per patient, per tooth, and per adjustment, by reducing the number of clicks an orthodontist needs to make while designing the LightPlan. Along with a redesigned tooth movement panel UI, hinge tools were developed based on direct customer feedback, providing a more intuitive and powerful planning experience that integrates seamlessly into your workflow. The intended result is time savings that you can reallocate to patient care, team skill building, or simply spending more time where it matters most.

LightTray Upgrades: Refining the Bonding Experience

We understand that bonding is a critical moment in treatment delivery, and even small improvements can have a major impact. With the latest LightTray upgrades, orthodontists and clinical assistants can expect:

  • New plier notches are designed for easier handling and quicker removal.

  • Removal of the occlusal rest on 7’s, designed for smoother seating while reducing the stress of manual tray editing.

  • Easier handling for those tight spaces in the posterior.

These refinements aim to make every bonding experience more seamless for both doctors and chairside team members. Each upgrade to the LightTray was driven by both orthodontists and team feedback, with additional insights from chairside staff who requested more intelligent and reliable bonding tools. By adding features like the plier notches, we’ve made the LightTray more practical in daily clinical use.

Every improvement in this LightForce 3.0 release, whether in patient comfort, digital efficiency, or chairside workflows, was developed with direct input from orthodontists and their teams, and validated with data. Evolution. Built together. That’s what happens when innovation is built on feedback from a community of brilliant orthodontists and designed by true partners in your daily practice.
